Responsibilities

As the Welding Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight to 1st shift Welders.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain authorized schedules and keep the Supervisor or Manager advised of all situations which could adversely affect operations utilizing problem solving skills.
  • Complete safety audits, conduct risk assessments and lead safety improvements.
  • Ensure visual management standards are maintained and improved.
  • Assist with development of standardized work (SOS's) for all processes within team.
  • Lead team in continuous improvement projects to meet goals in downtime, scrap, and other initiatives that impact team's performance.
  • Lead and coordinate activities related to production needs and line balancing.
  • Lead training for all new and current team members.
  • Communicate teams' goals and achievement of safety, quality, production and morale items.
  • Hands on production work in Weld, filling in for team members in a production capacity.
  • Encourage team's participation in suggestion system. Lead resolution of suggestions arising in their area.
  • Drive improvements in quality through the utilization of the appropriate continuous improvement tools.
  • Lead activities which proactively improve methods and standards to guarantee quality.
  • Communicate with 1st and 2nd shift Weld Team Leaders to determine weld plan and ensure production is met each day.
  • Maintain necessary records.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.  Complete safety audits, conduct risk assessments and lead safety improvements.
  • Ensure visual management standards are maintained and improved.
  • Assist with development of standardized work (SOS's) for all processes within team.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Relocation Assistance Available

Rate of Pay: $28.58/Hour + $3 Team Leader Differential +$4,000 Signing Bonus ($1320 at 90 days of service, $1320 at 180 days of service, and $1,360 at 1 years of service.) 

 

Hours: 1st shift hours 5AM - 3:30PM Mon-Th & Overtime as needed

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3 or more years of Welding experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment required
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Meet physical requirements of the position including the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
