- Perform a variety of duties to maintain and monitor paint and chemical supplies, systems, mixes and final paint quality. - Monitor paint systems, paint booths, paint recovery systems, drying booths, and chemical mix in most areas of plant and adjust supplies and mixes as necessary. Moves paint bulk containers and attach them to paint supply system. Uses a Walchem paint and chemical bath monitoring system, and investigates areas where the system displays an alarm or warning to correct problem and keep system running smoothly.- Removes recovered paint and cycled chemicals when containers are full and labels them in accordance with the hazardous waste materials laws and standards.- Adjusts water and chemical baths and paint systems to maintain required composition, temperature, color and freedom from extraneous materials. Changes filters throughout the paint and chemical bath system. Plans for and conducts cleaning of the various chemicals and water tanks.- Performs daily/weekly cleaning activities for both powder and liquid paint systems by following an Autonomous Cleaning Calendar.- May work with chemists, vendors, and engineers to resolve problems or research and test new methods. - Must maintain accurate records of tests performed.- Maintains inventories of paint (both bulk and touch-up spray cans), chemicals, painter supplies (such as protective suits and head gear) and filters throughout the paint areas.- Moving bulk chemicals and paint must use various materials handling equipment for both indoor and outdoor storage areas.- Maintain accurate and organized records. Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties. Detect, repair and/or report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision.         - Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
